Position Overview and Responsibilities

Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation Health Services (PBCNHS) is now inviting applications for a Casual Medical Transportation Driver. The Medical Transportation Driver is responsible for the transportation of patients to their medical appointment outside the community, and transporting patients in the event of medical emergencies.

 

Job Duties:

· Ensure that all patient travel is pre-authorized by the medical transportation clerks before transporting patients;

· Ensure all trips are coordinated as instructed by the Medical Transportation Clerk;

· Recording of odometer readings and gas purchases on vehicle log sheets and submitting the log sheets at the end of every month;

· Conform to all provincial highway traffic laws;

· Maintain the cleaning of Medical Vans and perform routine vehicle maintenance;

· Assist patients in and out of the Medical Vans when required;

· Knowledge and or experience of city driving (Flin Flon, The Pas, Prince Albert & Saskatoon);

· Maintain strict confidentiality;

· Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

· Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent;

· Strong verbal and written communication skills;

· Be self-motivated, willing to drive long hours;

· Class 5 Driver’s license required, Class 4 is preferred;

· Must provide Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Record Check, Drivers’ Abstract and verification of Covid vaccination;

· Ability to speak Cree is an asset.

 

Salary & Benefits

Salary: $ 19.97 - $23.15 (depending on Education & Experience)
