NITHA HEALTH CAREERS SCHOLARSHIP FUND
NITHA is a Third Level structure in a Partnership arrangement between the Peter Ballantyne Cree
Nation, Prince Albert Grand Council, Lac La Ronge Indian Band, and the Meadow Lake Tribal Council to
support, enhance and strengthen existing health service delivery in northern First Nations.
APPLICATION DEADLINE
The deadline for the submission of this application is September 30th of the calendar year. Fully
completed application packages must contain information and be post‐marked, in the mail or dropped
off at the NITHA Office, or e‐mail to
WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO APPLY?
You are eligible to apply for financial assistance if you are:
- A band member of one of NITHA’s Partners: Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation, Lac La Ronge Indian Band,or a band member of one of the first nations belonging to Meadow Lake Tribal Council or the PrinceAlbert Grand Council;
- Enrolled as a full‐time student at the post‐secondary level in a program of study that is a minimum oftwo academic years at an accredited university, college and pursuing a certificate, diploma or degree;there is an exception made for one‐year upgrading or certification programs such as nurse practitionerafter a Bachelor of Science in Nursing;
- Studying a branch of the health sciences such as: nursing, dentistry, pharmacy, lab technology,physiotherapy, dietetics, nutrition, medicine, health administration and public health policy.
AMOUNT OF SCHOLARSHIP AWARD
Scholarship: Individual scholarship awards are provided in the amount of $1,500 and qualified individuals may only be allocated one scholarship per academic year.
