Position Overview and Responsibilities
The Head Start Admin. Assistant will report directly to the Aboriginal Head Start Coordinator and is responsible for organizing and coordinating AHS programming (land-based activities/evening programming). The AHS Admin Assistant will also perform a variety of administrative duties and covering in for the Aboriginal Head Start Driver
Qualifications
• Grade 12 or equivalent; • Diploma/Certificate in Early Childhood Education or Office Clerk certificate would be an asset;
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate projects, and facilitate group sessions
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills;
• Must maintain strict confidentiality;
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, problem solving & public relation skills;
• Self-motivated and able to work independently;
• Current Satisfactory Criminal Record Clearance, Vulnerable Sector Check, and Driver’s Abstract
• Must have a valid Class 5 driver’s license;
• Ability to speak Cree is an asset;
