Position Overview

PBCN Health Services is hiring one (1) Dental Assistant. Reporting directly to the Dental Therapist, the Dental Assistant is responsible for providing for the clerical/receptionist duties to the dental therapy program. The Dental Assistant is responsible for assisting the Dental Therapist as required and to assist in the school dental programs.

Responsibilities

  • Administrative Duties
  • Answering calls, making appointments
  • Obtaining client information for the Client Dental Record forms
  •  Assisting in classroom and/or community presentations
  • Obtaining written consents from parents/guardians and keeping accurate client records.
  • Communicating effectively with teachers on an on-going basis
  • Essential Job Functions
  • Client appointment notifications
  •  Maintaining strict confidentiality of all client information
  •  Cleaning and sterilization of dental equipment and supplies
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Experience)

  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Fluent in Cree and English
  • Must be able to maintain confidential information
  • Excellent communication and public speaking skills
  • Computer skills and knowledge
  • Must have a valid Class 5 driver’s license;
  • Current Satisfactory Criminal Record Clearance & Vulnerable Sector Check;

Salary & Benefits

Salary: As per Salary Grid (depending on Education & Experience)
